After so many years, thanks to God and to the lawyer María Mendoza, I obtained my work permit after 5 months and later my residency, although it was not easy at all but not impossible for the best lawyer.

My name is Magdalena Robles. I currently live in the state of California. I am from Michoacán, Mexico, and I arrived in this beautiful country at the age of 17, on 11/05/1989. I always felt afraid when I went to look for work, fearing they would ask for my papers. I also drove carefully to avoid giving any reason for a police officer to stop me and deport me, as I lived in Arizona for 18 years. I remained without papers for exactly 34 years.
