What is the K-1 Visa?
The K-1 Visa, Fiancé Visa, or Fiancé Visa allows the fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen to travel to the United States to get married. The process begins with Form I-129F filed with USCIS. If approved, the case is forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) and then to the Consulate or Embassy, where the interview is conducted. Once married, the couple can apply for permanent residence (Green Card). If you want to get married in the United States and start your life as a couple here, the K-1 Visa is the way to go.
